Where do we Operate?

Currently, Mavuno has operations in:

South Africa
We are assisting historically disadvantaged emerging black farmers to become successful commercial farmers.
Zimbabwe
We have developed a contract farming model for small and medium farmers that will enable the country to get back to food security in 18 months once stability returns to the country. Currently 6 million hectares of land is available for crop production, most of which has high yield potential.
Democratic Republic of Congo
We are negotiating to lease 40 000 hectares of land in the Katanga Province, with a total of 45 million hectares of arable land in the DRC available for future production.
Tanzania
We negotiate farmland for lease to produce maize, wheat, sunflowers and soy beans. Currently there are 18 million hectares of land available for crop production.
Rwanda
We currently engage in trading of various agricultural commodities and plan to produce wheat in future.
Other
Substantial opportunities exist elsewhere in Africa and we are investigating future expansion into Zambia (with 15 million hectares of arable land), Ghana (with 2.8 million hectares of arable land) and Ethiopia (with 10.9 million hectares of arable land), for large-scale grain production.

“In Sub-Saharan Africa, 211 million people are employed in agriculture, constituting 62% of the total workforce. Agriculture is the only industry that has the potential to introduce a major economic recovery on the continent of Africa.”
